Washington, DC lit up Thursday evening as political figures, celebrities, designers, and cultural heavyweights stepped onto the red carpet for the world premiere of “MELANIA” at the Trump Kennedy Center. The first lady hosted the event, offering an intimate glimpse into the 20 days leading up to the inauguration of the 47th president as she and President Donald Trump prepared for their return to the White House.
The energy inside the venue matched the anticipation surrounding the project, with guests arriving in waves and photographers capturing every detail of the high-profile premiere.
First Lady Takes Center Stage

Melania Trump arrived in a striking black Dolce and Gabbana skirt suit, greeting reporters with calm confidence as she debuted the film in front of a packed hall. The documentary follows her closely during the final weeks before the administration’s transition.
President Trump, who joined her on the carpet, described the film as “a modern-day history of the White House.” He added, “People really like [the film]. I can see it being very successful over a period of time.”
Her father, Viktor Knavs, also attended. When asked if he was proud of his daughter, he responded simply and firmly: “Yes.”
Nicki Minaj Turns Heads And Voices Support
Rapper and singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj made a standout entrance in a ruched light-blue gown. Her support for Trump has recently drawn attention, and she reinforced that loyalty again.
At a recent Treasury event, Nicki Minaj said, “[Trump] is a different human being. This is a different president. This is a different kind of leader.”
She continued, “This is a businessman and an authentic human being. So when he says he wants to contribute something long term way after he’s in office, that’s what he means.”
Cabinet Members And Public Figures Fill The Carpet
The premiere drew a wide mix of public officials, business leaders, and cultural figures. Dr. Mehmet Oz, accompanied by his wife Lisa and their children Daphne and Oliver, stepped out in coordinated evening wear for the occasion.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins arrived in a black embellished blazer with a red clutch, while Skye Hankey — daughter-in-law of billionaire Don Hankey — wore a sleek black asymmetrical dress with leather gloves.
Also spotted among the attendees were HUD Secretary Scott Turner, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and attorney Alina Habba. Their presence underscored the premiere’s significance within the administration’s inner circle.
The first lady watched the film with director Brett Ratner and producers Fernando Sulichin and Marc Beckman from the presidential box. Speaking about the experience, she said she was proud of the film and the teamwork behind it. “The director, Brett Ratner, was fantastic to work with, a great talent, all of the producers — really a great team,” she said.
Designers, Icons And Influencers Add Creative Flair

The guest list stretched beyond politics and government. Usha Vance, who recently announced her fourth pregnancy, attended alongside designers Adam Lippes and Tham Kannalikham. FIFA President Gianni Infantino, musician Waka Flocka Flame, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft also joined the crowd.
Fashion designer Andre Soriano delivered one of the night’s most memorable looks in an all-black ensemble with a dramatic top hat. Praising the first lady, he said she is the “icon of [the U.S.].”
He added, “I’m so glad that we have a first lady that not just cares for the youth of America, but also she’s just so glamorous.”
Discussing his outfit, he explained, “This outfit is about freedom.”
He expanded further, saying, “It’s almost rebellious in a sense, but it’s about couture and fashion.”
And with admiration, he concluded, “I want to represent our first lady because it’s high-end fashion, she’s the fixture of our country right now. She’s such an inspiration to move our country forward.”
Crowds Fill The Hall Of States
Inside the Trump Kennedy Memorial Center, guests gathered in the Hall of States ahead of the screening. Elegant gowns, polished tuxedos, and signature accessories added a sense of old-school Hollywood flair to a political moment infused with entertainment-industry shine.
The evening marked a rare blend of politics, culture, and fashion — all orbiting around the first lady and her new film. With an audience filled with supporters, officials, and creative luminaries, “MELANIA” debuted with the kind of spectacle few political documentaries ever receive.
