The Department of Homeland Security reports its highest online traffic ever, driven heavily by interest in voluntary departure information. Officials say the agency received 102 million page views and 67 million unique visitors in 2025, a significant rise from the 40 million page views recorded the year before.
A spokesperson credited the growth to sweeping administrative actions, stating, “Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Secretary Noem, DHS celebrated one of the most consequential periods of action and reform in American history in 2025.” The spokesperson also said, “From delivering the most secure border ever and removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens, to fixing disaster response and ushering in a golden age of travel, DHS will continue to build upon this success and innovate to find ways to deliver for the American people.”
CBP Home App Drives Huge Interest

A major driver of the traffic surge is the CBP Home App, introduced in March 2025 during the second Trump administration. The app allows individuals in the country illegally to begin the self deportation process digitally.
The agency says a redesigned website is on the way to improve accessibility. According to the spokesperson, “This redesigned website is another example of that commitment to innovation and being the most transparent administration in American history.”
Thousands Choose Self Deportation
DHS officials report that tens of thousands of migrants have already used the app to self deport. To support voluntary departures, the agency provides a $1,000 stipend and “financial and travel assistance to facilitate travel back to their home country.”
During the holiday season, DHS even promoted a Cyber Monday offer that included a free flight home and a $1,000 bonus for those who opted to leave.
DHS Expands Public Safety Tools
The DHS has also introduced the “Worst of the Worst” website, a public list that highlights rapists, murderers, child predators and other offenders arrested or charged in the United States.
As enforcement actions continued, Kristi Noem announced, “In President Trump’s first year back in office, nearly 3 million illegal aliens have left the U.S. because of the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration, including an estimated 2.2 million self-deportations and more than 675,000 deportations.”
Border Apprehensions Hit Historic Lows

The agency reports that U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions over the past 12 months are the lowest in its recorded history. DHS says total apprehensions across the year were lower than the average monthly totals during the previous administration.
Noem also noted major shifts in drug trafficking. According to her statement, “In the last year, fentanyl trafficking at the southern border has also been cut by more than half compared to the same period in 2024.” She added that the U.S. Coast Guard seized enough cocaine to kill more than 177 million people.
Noem continued, “Meanwhile, we have saved taxpayers more than $13.2 billion here at DHS.”
Looking Ahead to 2026
The agency says it is preparing additional digital tools and enforcement efforts for the coming year. Among them is a new rule issued through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, prioritizing H 1B visas for higher skilled and higher paid applicants.
