French Woman Arrested for Breaching Security and Biting Deputy at Fort Lauderdale Airport

Date:

A French woman is facing three felony charges in South Florida after authorities say she tried to breach security at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and later attacked a sheriff’s deputy who was trying to take her into custody. The incident occurred at around noon on Wednesday, when Eva Leonnie Livia Hollemart Padoin, 24, from Paris, attempted to enter a restricted area of Terminal 2.

Security Breach at Terminal 2

Court documents made public on Friday reveal that Hollemart Padoin tried to enter through doors marked “No Entry,” leading into the secure area of the terminal. Authorities say she ignored commands from Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers who were shouting at her to stop.

A Showdown with Deputies

The Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report states that a deputy responded after overhearing TSA officers shouting at Hollemart Padoin. When the deputy approached, the woman ignored the officer’s instructions to stop and continued walking.

“Deputy (redacted) advised her to leave the area, but the defendant (Hollemart Padoin) repeatedly refused to comply,” the report states. “Deputy (redacted) then took physical control of the defendant’s bag and attempted to direct her out of the area. The defendant resisted by grabbing the bag back and again refusing to comply.”

Violence Escalates: Strike and Kick

Despite the officer’s attempts to restrain her, Hollemart Padoin tried once again to force her way past the door. The situation escalated when the deputy re-engaged with her, explaining that the area was not an entry point.

“Deputy (redacted) re-engaged with her, explained that the area was not an entry point and attempted to escort her out,” the report continues. “At that point, the defendant struck Deputy (redacted) in the face with her left hand and kicked her in the leg.”

The Bite: A Disturbing Turn

After being informed that she was under arrest for trespassing in a secure area, Hollemart Padoin continued to resist. The deputy called for backup, but as two officers struggled to subdue her, Hollemart Padoin bit the original deputy on her right thumb, “breaking the skin and causing immediate bleeding.”

“It took several minutes to finally get her into custody,” authorities said, describing the struggle as intense and prolonged.

Felony Charges and Detention

Hollemart Padoin was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on an officer, resisting arrest with violence, and trespassing on critical infrastructure. She was taken into custody and held on a $6,000 bond at BSO’s Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach.
