The Trump campaign has launched a fierce response against billionaire Mark Cuban, a key surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris, for what they call “extremely insulting” remarks about women who support former President Donald Trump. The campaign is demanding that Harris “immediately condemn” Cuban’s statements.
Cuban made the controversial comments during an appearance on ABC’s The View on Thursday.
“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” Cuban stated. “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them.”
Backlash from Trump Campaign
Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt was quick to denounce Cuban’s remarks.
“Joe Biden called Trump supporters ‘garbage,’ and now Kamala’s top surrogate Mark Cuban insinuated female Trump supporters are ‘weak and dumb,’” Leavitt told.
Leavitt emphasized the impact of Cuban’s comments on Trump-supporting women.
“This is extremely insulting to the thousands of women who work for President Trump, and the tens of millions of women who are voting for him,” Leavitt asserted. “These women are mothers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, and they are, indeed, strong and intelligent, despite what Mark Cuban and Kamala Harris say.”
Campaign Division and Tensions Rise
Leavitt further criticized the atmosphere within the Harris campaign.
“joy at Kamala HQ has been replaced by division, vitriol, and a disturbing level of disrespect for the millions of Americans who are supporting President Trump after four years of destruction under Kamala Harris.,” Leavitt declared.
She outlined the reasons why women support Trump.
“Women want a president who will secure our border, remove violent criminals from our neighborhoods, and put more money in our pockets — and that’s exactly why we are supporting President Trump,” she continued. “Kamala Harris must immediately condemn Mark Cuban’s disrespectful insult to women.”
Biden’s ‘Garbage’ Remark Sparks Outrage
This incident follows just days after President Joe Biden appeared to label Trump supporters as “garbage.” Speaking during a Zoom call with Voto Latino, one of the largest Latino voter outreach groups in the U.S., Biden reacted to a joke made at a Trump rally. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe had referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage,” prompting Biden to respond, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”
The White House later insisted Biden’s comments were misinterpreted, and Vice President Harris attempted to distance herself from the backlash.
“I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” Harris said when asked. “I believe that the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not,” Harris said. “And as president of the United States, I will be a president for all Americans, whether you vote for me or not.”
Trump’s Counterattack in Wisconsin
Meanwhile, Trump, during a visit to Wisconsin, took to a new visual campaign method. Sporting a garbage worker’s high-visibility vest and riding in a “Make America Great Again” garbage truck, he addressed supporters in Green Bay.
“He called them garbage — and they mean it, even though, without question, my supporters are far higher quality than Crooked Joe and Lyin’ Kamala,” Trump remarked.
Concluding with a message for Biden and Harris, Trump made his stance clear.
“My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple: You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans,” he said firmly. “And you can’t be president if you hate the American people, and there’s a lot of hatred there.”
